The Emerging Device Physics Laboratory (EDPL) at Physics Department of Ewha Womans University focuses on understanding and controlling novel physical phenomena arising from the interactions between charge carriers, photons, and plasmons in various semiconductor nanostructures. The goal of the lab. is to propose next-generation information and energy devices through proof-of-concept research based on device physics, materials physics, and optics.

Main Research Areas

  • Fabrication of Hybrid Nanostructures

Integration of 2D materials and various nanoscale architectures to explore novel optoelectronic properties and device applications

  • Surface Characterization using Scanning Probe Microscopy

Topography, Local Transport, and Surface Potential Measurements via Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Current-Sensing AFM, and Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy

  • Electrical Characterization of Semiconductor Devices
